Changing rooms/Safeguarding
Please follow these guidelines when possible.
1) Boys to change in boys and girls change in girls changing rooms by themselves
2)Only assist your own child with changing (if needed)
3) If your child needs help with changing and cannot get changed by themselves, please change them in their genders changing room but; if there are older children who are not comfortable with the opposite gender adult being in the changing room you may need to consider your child having a warm shower and then changing in the communal area adjacent to the changing room, or wait for the older children to leave.
Alternatively, female guardians can change their pre school son in the female changing room and a male guardian can change their pre school daughter in the male changing room (pre school considered 5 and under)
4)Adults should be alert to not being in the changing rooms with older children of the opposite gender (8yrs and above).
5)If you are unsure on a certain day, please ask myself or one of the teachers and we will advise you the best option.
6)If your child is uncomfortable changing in public changing rooms, you could consider bringing a robe type towel so they can change comfortably under their towel.
7) Older children would be considered 8 and over.
8) No Mobile phone or cameras to be used on poolside or in the changing rooms.

Welcome pack/extra info
Swimming lessons are held Mondays through to Friday 3:35pm onwards
Lesson times we can offer depend on swimmer’s ability level and spaces available.
Entry and exit to the pool
There is strictly only one route to and from the pool. Please use the black and green gate which are situated at the infant end of the school (far right end of the school if facing it). You will then see signs leading you around to the pool.
Group sizes
Maximum 6 children per class. If there is a bulge group of 7; for unforeseen reasons this will be rectified asap.
Assessment and gradings
The swim school follows the Swim England learn to swim frame work
Certificates are awarded every other term. Swimmers are assessed continuously throughout the term and parents will be contacted if a child need to move group. Often children progress to higher levels together and therefore can remain in the same group.
What to bring to your lesson
1. Swimming costume/shorts – no baggy costumes/shorts as they can cause drag.
2. You may choose to send your child in a rash vest or wet suit in the winter months
3. Swimming hats are compulsory unless a reason arises that your child cannot wear one. Swimming hats can be purchased for £5
4. Towel
Parents viewing
Parents are encouraged to watch from the patio parent viewing area. Crowding the poolside effects the flow of the lesson and disrupts both children’s and teacher’s concentration. If your child is particularly nervous you may be asked to come and stand on poolside to help reassure your little one.
We have erected a shelter shelter in the parents viewing area for rainy days
Medical information
You should provide the swim school with any relevant medical or allergy information prior to your child’s first lesson.
Strictly no mobile phones or devices with cameras on poolside or changing rooms – you may use phones in the patio viewing area.
